On Linje and Comrod are upgrading the power grid in Herøy, Møre and Romsdal

Mørenett now improves and reinforces the electricity supply to Herøy municipality in Møre and Romsdal. The power supply between Djupvik and Sandvikskaret is now being upgraded. A new line (132kV), a new switch arrangement, and a kiosk/building for power supply and remote control of switches are being built.

Main contractor On Linje has chosen Comrod as supplier of composite masts and foundations for the new 132kV line. The line is 4.4 km.

Comrod and On Linje will work closely throughout the project to maximise the advantages of the strength and stiffness of the composite poles. The dimensions of the poles have been chosen so that the use of cross reinforcements and bar guy wires is reduced to a minimum.

Furthermore, the vast majority of masts are installed using Comrod’s “rock drilling”. This contributes to reduce interference with nature to a minimum – the installation is done by helicopter, which minimizes the use of construction roads, and there is no need for blasting either.

– Mørenett has a strong focus on the environment and has chosen solutions that will limit driving in the terrain and at the same time ensure efficient project implementation. There have been many constructive interactions to find good solutions. We are very satisfied with the collaboration with Comrod, Mørenett and our design consultant, Efla, in connection with this process, says Nils Petter Vegsund, managing director of ON Linje.
